Anita Bourne, Interior Designer

Anita developed a love for interior design in the late '80's in her first role as assistant to renowned British Architect and Interior Designer, Michael Sumner. Subsequently she went on to study at Chelsea's KLC, leading design schools and has since been creating luxury residential interiors for London based clients and established Definitive Interior Design in 2011.

Inspired by architectural details, natural elements, texture and colour, her creativity is fueled researching and sourcing for new projects, she particularly enjoys designing bespoke furniture and soft furnishings and regularly visits trade shows and design exhibitions hunting for new design-led products, cutting edge technology and unexpected statement pieces.

By taking time to analyse the way in which clients use their homes and gain some insight into their style and personalities, Anita is able to clearly translate ideas and aspirations which reflect their individual lifestyles.

With an intuitive approach to optimising space by introducing bespoke storage solutions, ambient lighting, a fluent palate and custom designed furnishings, Anita essentially creates unique blueprints that reflect her client’s individual lifestyles and personalities.

Based in West Dulwich, South London, Anita lives with her husband and two children, she enjoys travel, photography, good food, soul music, dancing, the great outdoors and walking her dog.
